I'm Anne Meiers and as a Board Certified Reflexologist, my goal is to provide you with a wonderfully relaxing experience to benefit your mind, body and spirit! I will come to your home with everything needed to help your body let go of any tension and encourage your body's own natural healing ability. We could also take advantage of living in this corner of the Pacific Northwest and find a calm spot near the beach or park with views of the snow capped Olympics or the ferries sailing across the Puget Sound. The idea is for you to be in a comfortable space to take full advantage of the benefits of reflexology.

Reflexology and You

Your hands and feet are like mini-maps of your entire body and when using specific touch techniques, reflexology can positively affect your physical, emotional and even your spiritual well-being. I love sharing reflexology with everyone, especially with people who are a little uncertain about what to expect. During a session, I can visibly see a client’s body begin to relax. I love helping clients get to that deep state of relaxation where worries and stresses can be put aside and the client is able to focus on themselves.

Most people live very hectic lives and have forgotten how important it is to relax.  Medical studies have shown  that over 80% of all illnesses are stress related. What if you could experience deep relaxation during a reflexology session. Wouldn't you like to have a little more calmness in yourself?  A little more energy?  A healthier you to share with family, friends, co-workers and the rest of the world!

What to Expect during a Reflexology Session

Touch-type therapies have been around since ancient times, but reflexology, the reflexology that I was trained in, has only been around since the early 1900's. What makes the benefits of reflexology so unique? With reflexology you only need to remove your shoes and socks. While your feet are being cleaned, we will discuss your specific needs and concerns. (Your personal details are kept confidential.) Soothing lotion may be applied to your feet.  I begin with relaxing touch movements as you recline in either a special zero-gravity reflexology chair or massage table.

As a reflexologist, I see your feet as a mini-map of your entire body. Your feet have over 7,000 nerve endings and as I apply specific touch techniques, I am aware of the reflex points that corresponds to every system, organ and gland in your body. You may feel a tingly sensation in certain areas of your body as pressure is applied to your feet. You may get that "hurt so good" feeling but if at any time you are uncomfortable, I can easily change the amount of pressure so you can relax during the session.

After a reflexology session, your body may respond in a very definite way. Many people feel very relaxed and rejuvenated. For some, they may feel a sense of lethargic or tearfulness but this feeling is transitory. It is important to share your experience with me so we can both better understand where you are and where you want to be. With each reflexology session, subtle changes are happening in your body. You will be aware of some of these changes!

Reflexology is a holistic approach to healthcare. As a reflexologist, I do not diagnose, prescribe nor treat for a specific illness. I believe our bodies are wonderfully created and regular reflexology sessions can support your health goals.
